Fall 2009 Newsletter
Did you ever start a journal with the best intentions of writing faithfully every single day, or okay, every other day? Then you find yourself down the road realizing you haven't written a thing in three months? So you sit down and try to cram three months of life into one entry?
Yeah, well, that's kind of what I'm doing now. It's been quite a while since sending out a newsletter, so you're all going to get the crammed version of the past year or so. When I called this my Every-Once-In-A-While newsletter, I wasn't kidding!
I'm now on Facebook. Want to become a Fan? Click here. I update this page regularly so it's a good way to keep track of what's going on with my writing life.Nina Quinn Mysteries
Weeding out Trouble, the fifth and last book in the Nina series, was published in August 2008. In it all those pesky questions I've raised throughout the whole series are answered. I laughed, I cried, I sighed when I wrote it. I hope those of you who read it had the same reaction. There's an excerpt and some reviews on my website.A Hoe Lot of Trouble has sadly gone out of print. Happily, there are still a few used copies floating around the Internet so it's not impossible to find...just not so easy. However, the upside to this is that Hoe is available electronically, so if you own an e-reader (Kindle, mobipocket, etc), you're in luck! The book is just a download away.
Lucy Valentine
I'm happy to announce my next book, Truly, Madly: A Lucy Valentine Novel, will be released February 2, 2010 just in time for Valentine's Day by St. Martin's Press (available for preorder now! ISBN #: 978-0312946135, $7.99).Here's the unofficial official blurb:
Lucy Valentine is as smart as can be, as single as you can get, and so not qualified to run a matchmaking service. But when her parents temporarily step down from the family business, Valentine, Inc., it’s Lucy’s turn to step up and help out—in the name of love.
Plus, her rent is due. Here’s the problem: Lucy doesn’t have the knack for matchmaking. According to family legend, every Valentine has been blessed by Cupid with the ability to read “auras” and pair up perfect couples. But not Lucy. Her skills were zapped away years ago in an electrical surge, and now all she can do is find lost objects. What good is that in the matchmaking world? You’d be surprised. In a city like Boston, everyone’s looking for something. So when Lucy locates a missing engagement ring—on a dead body—she asks the sexy private eye who works upstairs to help her solve the perfect crime. And who knows? Maybe she’ll find the perfect love while she’s at it…
Charlaine Harris, New York Times bestseller of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, had this to say about Lucy Valentine:
"A delightful protagonist and a clever premise combine to make this one of the most
entertaining books I've read in months. Lucy is someone whose
adventures you'll want to follow again and again."The beautiful cover and an excerpt are up on my newly redesigned website: www.heatherwebber.com
